Counseling

Our Hebrew-language counseling center, which provides one-on-one counseling in-person and via our phone- and internet-based hotline, is staffed by 27 trained volunteers who provide individual guidance to approximately 1,200 people annually from a variety of backgrounds, genders, religious affiliations and population sectors. Topics range from pregnancy and choosing a method of contraception to preventing/identifying STIs. Our mobile counseling unit travels to those in need of extra help in accessing guidance: the women’s shelter, meeting places for at-risk youth and the community center serving asylum seekers, to name some.

Our presence on Instagram has provided Lada’at with an interesting new channel for young people to access our counseling services, Instagram chat. This channel allows young people to ask, under the guise of relative anonymity, for advice and help. This is especially helpful for teens at-risk in precarious situations, who can seek guidance without fear. As our social media presence continues to expand, we are continually discovering new ways for those who need us to find us and ask for guidance – and to be able to do so where they already are, online. We also run a closed Facebook group for people to ask questions related to sexual health and receive responses from Lada’at counselors.

Our Arabic-language Instagram account and closed Facebook group provide the same services for Arabic speakers.

Are you or someone you know seeking guidance on matters relating to sexual and/or reproductive health? We are here for you.
